DISTRICT COOLING FOR BETTER SAVINGS

Experts in Qatar are already gunning for district cooling as against traditional air conditioning systems. This would save at least as much as forty percent of energy consumption, these experts claim. Mr. Kamal Taj who is the Head of Mechanical Engineering for KEO Consultants is making these claims which are simply not baseless.

According to him, the industrial equipment as used in district cooling like chillers, cooling towers and pumps operate more efficiently and very potently at the same time. They are just a much better option when compared with the traditional ACs. This, in the mean while, adds up to as much as energy savings of anywhere between 40%-60%.

District cooling is simply a centralized cooling system which has the cooling energy being produced and distributed through an underground insulated pipe line using chilled water. This would thus be directly supplied to offices, industrial and residential buildings and resulting in greater cooling of the indoor environment of these buildings.

Add to this, using thermal storage to the district cooling plants, will further reduce the energy consumption by about fifteen percent. The thermal storage sees storage of additional energy in the chilled water tanks when the energy demand is lower, say at night’s time.

None the less, apart from unmatched energy efficiency that it gives, one may also enjoy many other benefits of going for district cooling systems. These include, much reduced noise, lesser co2 emission, reduced maintenance, this would in the end be simply beneficial for one and all, the user, the building owners as well as the environment.

Looking for industrial cooling equipment experts? Then Cool Energy is the solution for all your industrial cooling needs. Cool Energy are experts in the rental, supply, design and servicing of industrial cooling systems and equipments & chiller systems.
